How did you get started in Token Collecting...

This thread is devoted to how you got started in the token collecting hobby.


Did a relative introduce you?  Did you see tokens at a coin show?  What made you want to collect tokens?

I'll start things off.  In 2001 I was metal detecting a ghost town site of Jacksonville, KS.  Out popped this token.  It was all over from there. 




At the time I was into coin collecting, but it was not really as interesting as I had hoped.  Untill I started researching this token I had no idea how many towns had tokens.  I've been learning and adding tokens ever since.  Now I have well over 200 tokens.  Well that's my story.  I still metal detect, but I have yet to find another token with a town name on it.
