Hi Smike--There is a "One Bushel" token from Meck Brazelton that I have listed as #16171 in the maverick token database of the Token and Medal Society. It has not been attributed yet, but one possible lead has come to light - an obituary of "Meck" William Brazelton of Lexington, KY, but it states that he was a former employee of an Army depot near there. I am continuing the search to see if, in an earlier part of this person's working career, he was involved with a business that would have used this picking or packing token.
Here's a bit of an update. I find a series of ads from late 1908 through the fall of 1909 in the Weekly Kansas Chief newspaper from Troy advertising a hog feed supplement for which a Meck Brazelton was agent. Here's an example. This may be a possiblility - the search goes on.
After finding Meck Brazelton's death certificate - he died of a heart attack in 1949 in the hospital in St. Joseph, MO - which says that he was an "orchardist" whose residence was "rural" Troy, KS, I am convinced that this token is from there. The one I know about has the denomination "One Bushel" so that fits with his occupation. It would have been a piecework token paid to workers for each bushel they pick. At the end of the day, they would then turn in all their tokens and be credited with whatever the going rate was for picking that crop during that season.
